Platform Rules
Draft for review. The development preview may differ from the policies and planned features described here.
These rules apply to every person submitting, managing or maintaining a listing on StepSil.
By using StepSil, creating an account or submitting a listing, you agree to follow these rules and our Terms and Conditions.
1. Eligibility
- Users must be at least 18 years old.
- Individuals, startups, businesses, freelancers, founders, creators and agencies may participate.
- Company registration is not mandatory.
- Every listing must represent a genuine project, business, service, professional activity or creator presence.
- Listings must maintain a professional presentation and comply with applicable laws.
- Agencies must have authorization to represent the projects they submit.
StepSil may reject listings that do not meet these requirements.
2. Listing requirements
Every submitted listing must:
- Provide accurate and truthful information.
- Use a valid destination URL.
- Represent a genuine project, business, service or creator.
- Have an appropriate name, description and category.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Avoid misleading claims and deceptive information.
- Comply with intellectual property rights.
- Be submitted by someone authorized to represent it.
Users are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their submitted information.
3. Prohibited listings
StepSil does not permit:
- Illegal businesses, products or services.
- Fraudulent businesses or scams.
- Phishing websites and malicious downloads.
- Counterfeit products and impersonation.
- Hate, harassment and discriminatory content.
- Adult or sexually explicit services.
- Misleading investment or financial schemes.
- False, deceptive or unsupported claims.
- Content violating intellectual property rights.
- Content prohibited by applicable law.
StepSil may reject, restrict or remove content that violates these rules.
4. Duplicate listing policy
The same destination endpoint cannot be listed more than once.
Examples of duplicate destinations include:
- The same website URL.
- The same Instagram profile.
- The same X profile.
- The same YouTube channel.
Different projects belonging to the same person or organization may be listed separately if they have genuinely distinct destinations and comply with our rules.
Submitting multiple accounts or listings to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
5. Leaderboard structure
StepSil maintains two leaderboards.
A. 1-Day Leaderboard
- Every newly approved listing appears on the 1-Day Leaderboard.
- The 24-hour period begins when the listing is approved.
- After exactly 24 hours, the listing leaves the 1-Day Leaderboard.
- The listing continues on the ALL-TIME Leaderboard, provided it remains active.
B. ALL-TIME Leaderboard
- Approved listings appear from the beginning.
- Listings retain their accumulated bid.
- The bid is not reset when the listing leaves the 1-Day Leaderboard.
- Expired, deleted or paused listings are not displayed publicly.
The ALL-TIME Leaderboard represents cumulative paid ranking among eligible active listings. It is not a permanent archive of expired listings.
6. Bidding and ranking
- The minimum initial bid is ₹9.
- Users may make additional payments to increase their listing's cumulative bid.
- Every successful payment allocated to a listing contributes to its cumulative bid.
- The ₹29 extension payment also contributes to the cumulative bid.
- Higher cumulative bids receive higher leaderboard positions.
- If two listings have the same cumulative bid, the listing that reached that bid amount first receives priority.
- The same accumulated bid applies to both leaderboards.
- No bid reset occurs when a listing moves from the 1-Day Leaderboard to ALL-TIME.
- Payments must be successfully confirmed before being reflected in the cumulative bid.
The amount credited towards a listing's bid will be shown or communicated as part of the payment process.
Ranking disclosure: Leaderboard positions are determined by cumulative paid bids. Higher bids receive higher positions. Rankings are not independent quality assessments or guarantees of business performance.
StepSil does not guarantee a particular position, number of visitors, clicks, customers, leads, sales, followers or revenue.
7. Listing validity
- Each approved listing receives an initial validity period of 30 days.
- The validity period starts from the date and time of approval.
- A listing remains eligible for public display during its validity period, subject to these rules.
- Users may extend the listing by paying ₹29 for an additional 30 days.
- Extension payments also contribute to the cumulative bid.
- Extensions purchased before expiry extend the existing expiry date.
- Expired listings are immediately removed from both public leaderboards.
- An expired listing must be extended and successfully reactivated before becoming publicly visible again.
8. Pause and resume
Users may pause and resume their listings where the functionality is available.
Pausing:
- The listing is immediately removed from public leaderboards.
- The 30-day validity countdown continues.
- The cumulative bid remains unchanged.
- No automatic refund is provided.
Resuming:
- The listing becomes eligible for public display again.
- Its existing cumulative bid is preserved.
- Its leaderboard position is determined using the applicable ranking rules.
- The original validity and expiry rules continue to apply.
A paused listing does not receive additional validity days.
9. Editing and deletion
- Users are responsible for maintaining accurate listing information.
- The submitted destination URL cannot be changed after submission.
- Other editable information may be updated where the platform permits.
- Users may delete their listings.
- Voluntary deletion does not qualify for a refund of successful listing payments.
- Deleted listings cannot be assumed to retain their previous ranking or validity.
10. Moderation and appeals
StepSil uses automated moderation to identify potentially non-compliant listings.
If a listing is flagged:
- It may be immediately paused or removed from public visibility.
- The listing owner may continue to access the listing through their account, where available.
- The owner may submit an appeal within 30 calendar days of the moderation notice.
- An administrator will review the appeal.
- If the listing is approved, it may be restored.
- If a violation is confirmed and the listing is removed, the applicable moderation deduction will apply.
An automated flag does not by itself constitute a final determination of wrongdoing.
Moderation-related deductions
Administrator-confirmed violation:
If an administrator reviews an appeal, confirms a violation and removes the listing, 25% of the eligible amount paid for the affected listing may be deducted as a moderation and policy-enforcement charge. The remaining eligible balance will be refunded, subject to applicable law and the Refund Policy.
No appeal within 30 days:
If the owner does not submit an appeal within 30 calendar days of the moderation notice, a 10% deduction may be applied to the eligible amount paid for the affected listing. The remaining eligible balance will be refunded, subject to applicable law and the Refund Policy.
These deductions are not cumulative. The same listing will not be charged both deductions for the same moderation incident.
No deduction will be applied where StepSil determines that the listing was restricted due to an internal error and no user violation occurred.
11. Traffic and platform integrity
Users must not deliberately manipulate platform activity.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Automated or artificial activity intended to deceive users.
- Exploiting technical vulnerabilities.
- Circumventing ranking restrictions.
- Creating fraudulent accounts.
- Interfering with platform operations.
- Submitting misleading information about engagement or performance.
StepSil may investigate suspicious activity, disregard invalid activity and take appropriate action.
12. Intellectual property
Users must own or have appropriate authorization to use all submitted logos, images, text, trademarks and other content.
By submitting content, users grant StepSil a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, display, reproduce and format that content as necessary to operate and promote the submitted listing on StepSil.
Users retain ownership of their original intellectual property.
13. Platform rights
StepSil reserves the right to:
- Review submitted listings.
- Hold listings for moderation.
- Reject or remove non-compliant listings.
- Suspend accounts involved in abuse.
- Remove duplicate or unauthorized listings.
- Restrict access for security or legal reasons.
- Update these rules when necessary.
14. External websites
Listings may direct visitors to external websites and social media platforms.
StepSil does not own or control those destinations and is not responsible for their independent content, services, privacy practices, availability or transactions.
Visitors should exercise their own judgment before interacting with an external destination.
